Lucy (Big Brushes)

I just finished a free online lesson by artist Emma Petitt-- this is the result.  I really struggled because I don't usually paint faces, and I don't use big brushes.  I am pleased with how it has turned out.  It is 11 x 14 inches, acrylic on mixed media paper.  It is being sold in support of whatever Canadian charity the purchaser chooses.  Thanks for stopping by  :)

Your Move

I have decided to enter the ebay Nibble Fest offerings once a month.  It is a themed art sale in support of charity.  All proceeds from my piece will be donated to the SPCA.  This is a little watercolor and acrylic ACEO that I will enter in July.  Bidding starts at $.99, and hopefully someone will want to give it a home.  If you decide to check ebay, type in NFAC for Nibble Fest Art Challenge.  The theme for July is Original Checkers.  Thanks  :)

Big J (Jasper)

This little piece was a commission by a friend.  Jasper recently passed away, and my friend wanted to do something special for his owners.  This is acrylic on vintage paper attached to canvas board.  All proceeds will be donated to the SPCA.  Thanks for taking a look  :)

Sweet Blossom

A friend's pet recently passed away.  She has wanted to buy something from me for awhile, so she asked if I could paint her dear cat.  I haven't tried painting a cat before, so struggled with many layers of black to create something interesting.  (The reddish brown at the bottom of the picture is my reflection in the glass.)  She is thrilled with the piece and the proceeds will be donated to the SPCA.  Thanks for your support  :)

The New Not So Normal

This is the second piece that I created for a fundraiser in support of Calgary artists.  The musings are my own-- Let us not be afraid of what is holding us down, but embrace instead what is lifting us up...My words becoming my thoughts, becoming me...

An Unfamiliar Landscape

How Does Your Garden Grow?

Just finished this little piece  :)  Started off as part of a watercolor lesson with Este MacLeod.  Then I needed to "finish" it, so cropped and mounted it and applied antique wax.  I like how it turned out looking like wood  :)  I hope to sell it in support of the Food Bank.  Thanks for taking a look!

Some Bunny to Love

I just finished this little fellow last night  :)  I originally planned the red underpainting to be finished in blue, because that is the color that often calls to me.  I ended up liking the vibrancy of the red, so it gets its day in the spotlight.  This piece has been sold in support of the Calgary Food Bank-- hope it brings a smile  :)  Thanks for stopping in!
