Missing Van Gogh

As a birthday present for a dear friend, four of us took a couple of painting classes together.  We were supposed to find a Van Gogh piece to capture.  The piece I chose was Peasant Woman. March 1885.  I "missed" the mark, but found that I really like her anyway.  Because I like her so much, I would only sell her for an amount that no one would want to pay (and would, of course, donate the money to SEVA).  I figure that I'd have to let her go if it meant restoring eyesight to 25 people...  Besides, Halloween is an everyday celebration in my home, so she fits right in  :)

I was actually inadvertently nudged into doing some blog posts by a very talented musician by the name of CALUM GRAHAM.  If you haven't heard his playing, you owe it to yourself to check out his videos on his website  calumgraham.com

Thank you for your interest!  Hope you end up loving something you "missed".

Color Commentary

I struggled quite a bit with this one, so ended up with lots of different layers.  As a novice, I am still okay with adding and subtracting from a piece until I am happy with it.  The piece named itself  :)

Hopefully it will find a home so that I can make another donation to SEVA.  Check out their great work at seva.org   Thanks so much for taking the time to have a look at my work!

Floating Freely

This is a little watercolor piece I have done.  My sister-in-law has just claimed it-- the proceeds will be donated to SEVA (an organization that restores eyesight to people in developing countries).  Hope your heart is light enough to float freely too  :)

Dropping a Note

This piece is finally finished  :)  I went in with more paint and added an opaque surface to give it a window effect.  I quite like the texture created by the Kroma Crackle.  This will be a birthday present for my mom  :)  Thanks so much for dropping by!

The Heart of My Art

This piece is slightly provocative if you look closely.  I have made the hearts out of epoxy clay-- fun to work with...

This piece will be offered on ebay in support of SEVA (an organization that restores eyesight to people in developing countries).  Thanks so much for dropping by!

Blue Angel Fresco

Wow-- I can't believe how long it has been since I posted anything!  I haven't been extremely productive, but I have had a bit of creative fun since last October.  Someone has asked where more of my work can be seen, so I thought I had best get my butt in gear and put it out for the world to see  :)

The someone who has nudged me is actually an extremely talented musician by the name of CALUM GRAHAM.  If you have a chance, please check him out on his website-- calumgraham.com

This painting will be offered on ebay in support of SEVA (an organization that restores eyesight to people in developing countries).  Thanks so much for dropping by!
